Toddler Talk Thursdays!! April 26, 2012

Image
Happy Thursday everyone! Today wasn't as warm out as yesterday was, but since its my only day off in a while I figured Alan and I would still take our little walk over to my parent's house. We did and though it looked like it wanted to storm on us the whole time, we had a really good time! This time on our walk, we saw a rollie pollie on the sidewalk. I told Alan to scare it so that it would roll up, and he bent down close to it and yelled as loud as he could lol! :D Needless to say, the rollie pollie wasn't scared at all and continued on its way to the grass. It had me laughing for blocks though lol! He is too funny sometimes! Tomorrow night is my friend Jessica's Bachelorette Party. I was invited before I was pregnant lol, so I think I will still be going, for a little bit. They even bought me a matching shirt and nicknamed me Sexy Hippie Mama or something silly like that lol. Pretty close to the right name! :P We will be doing dinner and then going out the bars af...

The Pregnancy Post: Week by Week! Week 28

I am officially in my third trimester! Wow this is crazy, I can't believe it is less than three months now til we get to meet our beautiful Anna! I am feeling very unprepared right now lol, but I keep reminding myself this was how prepared we were with Alan at this time. Today was a nice 70 degree day, so Alan and I took another walk to my parent's house. We both put on shorts and headed out for some fun. Once we got outside, we discovered that it was closer to 80 degrees out lol. It was so hot! We loved the sunshine regardless. :) Alan found little pine cones today and had to bring two with him to give to Grandma and Daddy lol. I got a picture of him too. I still can't get over this haircut lol! Here's this week's Pregnancy Post! How far along:  28 weeks and 3 days Size of Baby:  2 1/2 pounds and 14.8 inches long or the size of a Chinese cabbage (???) Developments of Baby:  Baby girl's survival rate outside of the womb gets bet...

Five Question Friday! March 30, 2012

Image
Happy Friday everyone! Lon stayed home sick again today, so Alan and I spent a lot of our time out in the living room and outside in the front yard. We even went for a little walk around the neighborhood. Thankfully, it looks like Alan and I may have missed this virus completely. But keep your fingers crossed for us over the weekend! :)  I have most of this weekend off, just have to train a girl on a birthday party tomorrow at two. Yes! Tomorrow night we will probably be going to the Shrine circus with my family, I'm hoping Lon feels well enough to go too so we can make it a family affair. Anyways, here is this week's Five Question Friday! Enjoy! What giveaway would you like to do on your blog? I have never done a giveaway on my blog before, but would love to do one if I was ever given the option. It would be fun to do a kid's event ticket giveaway, like for Disney on Ice or Seasame Street Live, but that would be more of a localized giveaway. Other than that, ...

Walking does wonders for the nomadic soul in me.

I have this crazy theory kicking around in my head. I would like to share it with you, my readers. Please bare with me, I may get a little wild with this one. :D I'm very passionate about it. There's a reason why people, why my family in general as well as everyone else, is not happy about their daily life and it is because humans are no longer listening to their natural instincts of being nomadic.  In a completely natural world, humans would be nomadic. Think Native American or some African tribes, they are a wonderful example. Humans (in nature) travel with their prey, whether it be a pack of deer, antelope, or gazelles. They have developed somewhat portable shelters, and they follow the pack wherever it leads them. Its a really simple, yet beautiful concept. This obviously is not the case with modern day people. We spend all day inside moving from one shelter to another. We start in the morning at their house, then go to their car, to their job, back to their car, to a...

What springtime means to me...

Alan's doing better today. I know I keep saying that every morning and then posting twelve hours later saying he's regressed, but I'm hopeful today. He's on Step 4 this morning, and only had two bad blow outs last night. He hasn't gotten sick since two yesterday and should hopefully be able to go to daycare this afternoon. We hoping that he's finally in the clear and will not regress anymore. I really want him feeling good the day before the wedding so that he can enjoy this weekend as well! :) The only thing I'm nervous about still keeping him hydrated and then his probiotic dosage. That's what made him vomit last time, so we are planning to try a different way of getting it in him. Oh my gosh, the wedding is in THREE DAYS!!! That's so close, I'm starting to panic a little lol. Everythings planned and paid for, except Lon's vest and button up shirt. We had to use the money for that to buy medicine and diapers when Alan first got sick. And ...

Sunny Family Sundays

I love Sundays so much. Most weeks, its my only day off from work. This week was one of those weeks. And as most of you know, my family has a tradition known as Family Sundays. We simply spend our whole day together, doing fun family activities. :) Today, Alan woke up and Lon brought him to our bed for our usual morning snuggle. We watched Jake and the Never Land Pirates (Alan's new second favorite show- only behind Seasame Street lol). Then we got up and I made eggs while Alan and Lon made us toast with jelly (Alan helped by spreading the jelly on with a spoon! We were so proud!). We ate breakfast together and then started potty training. In between our morning play sessions, Alan went to the potty eight times again and we're very happy to say he went pee twice! :D We will continue with the first "step" (going potty at home with diapers, goal nothing in diapers) next week and hopefully the last week of March we will be able to start trying out potty training at Chi...

Sunday is the day of rest? For who??? Not me!

This morning, Alan woke up early (well not too early, except that we lost that hour with DST so that made it early) with me and we had a nice breakfast of Kix, strawberry granola bar, a waffle, scrambled eggs, and milk to drink.  We listened to music and read books, colored and played with cars. Lon worked til midnight last night so he needed to sleep in. Plus I enjoyed my special Mama and Son morning together. :) Lon loved waking up to fresh breakfast made by me (Yes we saved him some lol!). After we decided to go for a walk around the neighborhood. It looked absolutely gorgeous outside and the sunshine was calling us. So we put Alan in a light jacket and pants, and after some debate, I decided that the stroller would be best instead of putting Alan in boots so he could walk with us. So we put him in his baby stroller... And he hated it, somewhat. He fussed about being buckled in it, until we rolled him into the sunshine and outdoors! He thoroughly enjoyed walking down to Good E...
