Color me Rad 2013!!!

Image
Yay! I am finally able to post about another one of the BEST days of my life! Oh I have waited all week to share with you readers about this great day, but with our crazy life right now I have yet to have the chance. But before I start on my wonderful happy post, I have to update everyone on our family. We are officially moved out of that horrid house and away from that awful man, fully moved out by yesterday at 3:45 pm. Only an hour and fifteen minutes before we were supposed to, I was quite proud of us! It rained heavy all day yesterday too, so we moved most of our possessions in the storm. I had to bag every box we had packed so that things would not get ruined, it was SOOOOOOOOOOO much work lol! Wow... As if winning the case and removing us from his property wasn't enough for him, our landlord also felt the need to harass us all day yesterday by stalking us and driving around the house over and over again until we called the police on him. :( What a creep! I am so glad that w...

Month in Review: April 2013

How was your April? We had a decent April. A lot of important things were figured out and we celebrated lots of milestones for this family. Here is what I wrote about: There was a few birthdays this month and also our wedding anniversary. We were very busy with all of our celebrations! We started out the month celebrating Uncle Tyler's birthday. He turned 27 this year. We had Aunt Sam and him over for birthday dinner at our house. Then was Aunt April's 14th birthday. The kids and I took her shopping for her birthday. We had a lot of fun! Nataional Siblings Day was a few days later, I sent my awesome siblings some love. Then I celebrated my blogging friend Hollie's birthday online.  As well as my good friend Chelsey's 24th birthday. A couple of my girlfriends and I took her out for drinks that night. It was one of the first times since I got pregnant with Anna! Speaking of Miss, Anna also turned nine months old, along with that came a new desire to stand on he...

Color me Hopeful for Boston!

Image
With yesterday's bombing of the Boston Marathon, many people are left scared and asking why. I do not know all of the information on the incident myself, but I do know that this was an act of anger and hatred. Whoever did this was angry at something and felt that they could no longer keep it in. We do not need more anger and hatred in this world, there is enough waiting for you right outside that door. When people are scared or hurt, they turn to anger sometimes to cope. We cannot make this bombing into a scapegoat for something polictical, nor can we use this to fuel our own anger at the world. I have already seen both of these happening and it saddens me. Instead, I choose the route of support and love. Boston needs us now more than ever. Let's not give them anger at the bombing but support and hope towards overcoming this. With that being said, there is a movement going on today to show support to Boston and the marathon runners. You are supposed to wear a Boston Marathon ...

Month in Review: October 2012

October was a good month for my family. We participated in several fall activities, found a new place to move into, celebrated my two year blogiversary, I worked Color me Rad and we even had some Halloween fun! What a busy month! Here's what we did: This month we celebrated Lon's birthday and Uncle Aaron's birthday. Alan and I made Lon a birthday card and birthday cupcakes, and we got him some new clothes for his birthday. Anna's friend Cordelia also celebrated her first birthday, she had a fun costume party at her house for it. Mama Heather made so much cool food, it was so awesome! I also celebrated my two year blogiversary, along with it came some new changes to my blog. Hope everyone likes it! Its not a big anniversary but Lon and I also celebrated our year and a half wedding anniversary. We are pretty excited to have made it a year and a half! :D We hope for at least sixty more years! We also celebrated Halloween this year. Alan is old enough to enjoy Hallowee...

Color me Rad 2012

Image
I have had my internet turned off for a week and we are preparing to move today hopefully. Not too much happened last week except for Anna's friend Cordelia's first birthday party on Thursday and Color me Rad on Saturday. I will post about Cordelia's party later this week when I get the pictures from it. But I just HAVE to post about Color me Rad. Because it was simply AMAZING!! I ended up not running Color me Rad but working it. I was able to work as a color bomber and let me tell you, I think I had more fun than the runners! I was put in charge of eleven other people, we were the Blue Crew! It was the best group of people ever! We had so much fun! I do not even know how to explain to you the awesomeness that is Color me Rad but I once again have more awesome pictures to show you! And I am in some too! :) The before picture... Yes we rode in the back of a Uhaul to get to our stations I wanted my shoes to be color blasted too Part of my crew I was hop...

Month in Review: September 2012

September is also another one of those birthday months for us lol. I know so many people who have children that were born in September, sometimes the same year but oftentimes different years too! It also is the beginning of fall, one of my favorite seasons of the year! Who am I kidding lol, EVERY season is my favorite season, it just depends on which season we are curently on! :P But I do just love fall and all that comes along with it. Here are some of the things we did this month! Being a part of the What to Expect group has its benefits, one of the main ones being all the empathy and support you recieve because you are venting to moms going through the exact same age. I love my WTE mamas! This of course means that I know a ton of people born in September and alot of them are the same age as Alan. So we celebrated so many birthdays this month, it was crazy! Here are the main ones I wrote about: Alan's third birthday was in the beginning of this month. He had an awesome Bubbl...

The Darling Dozen:Week by Week! Twelfth Week

Image
It is pretty late. Anna is up again cluster feeding before she falls asleep. I feel like she may sleep for longer than seven hours because she has eaten so much this past hour. So I figured I might as well do my Darling Dozen post for today. This is the twelfth and last week of the Darling Dozen. I simply cannot believe that Anna is already twelve weeks old and that in a little over a week she will be a three month old. Wow! She is just so big and so ready to be bigger, I joke that she is twelve weeks going on twelve months! She is so determined to sit up and crawl and move around like her big brother! Its amazing! So I have total mommy brain. Went to sub that art class yesterday and I expressed my excitement about finally having a birthday party tomorrow. My boss was instantly confused and after looking through our records, I realized that I was just crazy and had made up a fictional party in my head lol. No, my first birthday party is October sixth! Okay, so today we just have the ...

Five Question Friday! September 28, 2012

Image
Happy Friday everyone! I just cannot believe that tomorrow I will have a twelve week old. She is getting so big so fast, it is just crazy to me. Today I am subbing as an art teacher at the YMCA. Its only one class but it will be nice because I miss teaching art! :) There's not much else going on here, except for I was finally able to complete a load of dishes this morning! It has been a rough week for Anna for some reason (I think we might all be kinda sick with a common cold) so I have gotten NOTHING  done around the house. Including the dishes lol. Fail! I also realized that this is the week that everyone in the house forgot to rinse their plates off because dishes took me around an hour to do. And Anna was not at fault. Another fail! :/ Yay, glad they are at least done! Scratch that, I am sure that at least Lon and I have a cold. And probably Alan too... So maybe everyone but Anna? Because I have not seen any symptoms from her, except for all around c...

Color me Rad and Become my Life-Changer!

Image
Because I really think I need one again. This is step one of Operation: Make Mama Feel Normal Better I say feel better and not normal because in reality and all truth, I hate the word normal these days. People have this hidden expectation of "normal" and what it is, and they are so scared to stray from it. All my life I have known that I am not necessarily normal and really kinda weird. It honestly has never bothered me because it is who I am, it has always been me and thus is natural for me. But I have noticed that when I call someone weird, not even to insult them, just as an observation, they become uncomfortable and get offended regardless. Why is this? I am just calling you weird in comparison to me, in my eyes this is a good thing and not something to become upset over. I am not trying to insult the person, just connect with them. Of course as an adult now, I no longer call people weird that much, except sometimes for my husband when I'm not thinking abo...
