Our Valentine's Date

Image
My mother is the best! She stayed home and made my dad a nice dinner with our kids on Valentine's Day, so that Lon and I could go out to eat. She is so awesome! Thanks mom! Dinner was the perfect ending to our awesome week! We decided to go to Outback Steakhouse, instead of go somewhere wild. By the time we had decided where to go, it was so late! But it was a good decision going there, we definitely didn't regret it! The food there was just amazing! And our waiter was wonderful, even though it was really busy from the holiday, he was very helpful and attentitive to us. We tipped him real good because he definitely deserved it! Lon with one of his drinks and his porterhouse steak We had a blooming onion and french onion soup for our appetizer. They were both so perfect! The onion had that right zesty taste with its chipolte dip! And the french onion soup was too die for! It has a cheesy crouton top that was divine and the onion chunks! Wow! For dinner, Lon had the porte...

Alan's Valentine's Preschool Party

Image
Alan had a wonderful time at his preschool party! He really enjoys preschool and loves every holiday party they have. He had been talking about his Valentine party since he had woken up that morning! He picked out Spiderman Valentine's for his classmates and Snoopy cards for his two teachers. I was so proud that he wanted to write the names on each card. At first he just wanted to try writing his own name but after he realized that I would help him too, he wanted to write them all! He did pretty good, although I do have to admit that a few of them were kinda hard to read afterward lol. I am still one proud mama! Anna and I joined in for the beginning festivities at the party. We helped put the Valentines in each bag. They had decorated their bags as heart people. They were all so cute! Then the students colored two Valentines for their parents. Anna colored as well, she loves being a big kid too! Here are a few more pictures from Alan's party. We all had a blast! ...

Month in Review: February 2013

Image
We had a pretty decent February this year, not too much snow and just enough things to keep us busy on the weekends. Not to mention that we found out some very exciting news about Aunt Natalie and Uncle Jake's baby! Check out what happened to us this month! We celebrated Valentine's Day this month at a little party for Alan and his friends at the local coffee shop. It went really well, even better than last time, especially because Alan was feeling much better! February also meant CHD Awareness Week just before Valentine's Day, I did not write my own posts for the week but I did link up with CHD parents. Here are the four posts I wrote: #1, #2, #3, and #4. Anna also turned seven months old, and discovered her voice. Needless to say, our house is NEVER quiet anymore lol. :) But I would not have it any other way! I took Alan on a Mama and Son Date to the Family Life Expo. Then we celebrated Super Bowl with both of our families, and I suceeded in not watching any of...

Eleven Questions About Me

Image
How was everyone's Valentine's Day yesterday? Ours went great! Alan's little party had a very nice turnout, we all had a blast together! I will be sure to post about that sometime next week. I do not think that any of us took a single photo though lol, how silly are we! Lon surprised me with a dinner date to Applebee's KID FREE and then we went shopping for a movie (the new Judge Dredd, AWESOME), which was all awesome. I also got chocolates, yum! I am really picky about chocolates lol and he made a point to get me the PERFECT box of chocolates for me. Oh how I love him so much. He is just so perfect for me! Thanks baby! I am so very excited because Aunt Natalie and Uncle Jake are coming to town today! Yay! We have quite a bit we want to do with them here, I am just not sure what the exact plans are yet. But Alan has been asking for Aunt Natalie since he woke up lol. They are buds since he was born. :) We just cannot wait to see them! Have a safe trip here guys, ...

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

Image
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!! I love all of you today! Thank you for reading Free Range Family! You are all fantastic! Lol, I had to. I was looking through Google images and when Lon saw that one, he insisted that I post that on my blog. So there you go lol. Enjoy it! Today we have quite a bit to do. Alan has his Valentine's Day party at Off the Leaf, I have to prepare Lon's gifts (bacon roses and a Heart Attack) and we are also hoping to get in for a tax return appointment at some time too. Oh and I need to stop by my parents too for the kids. But that's besides the point. For Valentine's Day, I made Lon bacon roses. I do not have a picture of the ones I made, but here is a Pinterest photo of them: Lon just loved them lol, he thought they were hilarious. Alan made him a "Heart Attack," where he attacked Lon with a ton of hearts that we had made. Each with there own special reason why Alan loves Lon. We have yet to do this to Lon, we plan...

CHD Week: Day Six

Image
Today is the second to last day of CHD Awareness Week. I hope to get a last post out tomorrow, but with everything we have going on tomorrow for the holiday and with tax return stuff too, I am not sure if I will. So do check out today's posts! I hope you enjoy them! I know that I did! Day Six: Krista @ One Woman's Dreams wrote today about Miss Annabelle finally feeling better (A BIG YAY FOR THAT ONE!!) and about making the local news for her heart group's annual CHD Awareness week luncheon. Good for them! I have yet to watch the video (both kids and the hubby are asleep right now lol, will watch it in the AM hopefully) but I am very proud of them! Kaari, Ewan and Austen's Aunt from @ Team Ewan posted this on their Facebook page the other day and I missed it. Very cute, thank Kaari!     That is all I have on my blog feed for CHD Awareness today. There will probably be alot more tomorrow because of the Valentine holiday. I really will try to post the fin...

Five Question Friday! February 17, 2012

Image
So I chickened out today and didn't take Alan to Open Kids Gym lol. I was still exhausted and didn't really wanna chase him around. But my siblings are out of school until Tuesday, so hopefully we will do something fun with them later today. If I am feeling up to it lol. I seriously have been so beat lately, its sad. I don't think it helps having a wild toddler to chase everywhere either. Oh well. Here's this week's Five Question Friday! What do you do when you are really upset to calm yourself down? I meditate or do yoga and pilates. A lot of the times my stresses seem so huge and awful, when they are actually small and petty. Meditating helps me realize this fast and clears my mind. Which has worked wonders for me during my super crazy, hormonal times. I feel like I would be a lot more unbearable if I didn't meditate as much as I do. Via Do you go all out for V-day or is it just another day? It is just really another day for us. I've ne...

Valentine's Day 2012

Image
Yesterday was of course Valentine's Day. I am somewhat particular about Valentine's Day, I don't believe that it just for lovers anymore. I believe that Valentine's Day is a day for you to share your love with everyone that you love! :) This is how I've celebrated my last three Valentine's Days and I honestly wouldn't want it any other way lol. This year was no different. Unfortunately, Valentine's morning wasn't too fun for me. I woke up around four in the morning with morning sickness, which continued until about eleven. Ugh, not fun at all. You know the alien movie The Thing???  The alien cell that took over your body and imitated your cells? Please tell me you've seen the old or new version so I don't feel like a total Sci-Fi nerd lol! Well, yesterday morning I felt like an "infected" person right before the alien cells explode through their body to attack its next victim. Yeah, fabulous lol. :P Lon had to work from 8 to 2 t...
