Beautiful Lengths...

Image
Well I finally did it! I cut and donated my hair! As of this Sunday, I had been growing my hair out for donation for two years and nine months. I donated a total of sixteen inches to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths Program. I chose to donate through Pantene this year (I donated through Locks for Love after I had Alan) for a few different reasons. Around the time I had originally planned on donating, I had heard some negative comments about Locks for Love. I spoke with my boss, who also runs the Livestrong Program at the Y, about other options and she introduced me to Beautiful Lengths. Pantene joined with The American Cancer Society to develop this program in 2006. They have since donated more then 500,000 ponytails! That is 24,000 wigs! :D They also are a bit more lenient on their donation requirements, which is more realistic to these days with how many women dye their hair. This was the program for me. If you have never heard of Beautiful Lengths: (Taken directly from th...

Summer So Far

Image
I figured after yesterday's post that today I would post about our summertime happenings so far. Because we have been BUSY!!!! Lol, so I will share each big event with you all. So far this summer we have: Alan's T-Ball Game We were asked by my boss to join in on the last T-Ball game of the season. They were short one player and Alan was the man to help out! :) Alan was a bit upset at first that he didn't come prepared with a mitt like the other children, but after a friend lent him one, he was all better. He was pretty good at being an Outfielder, he loved running after the ball and throwing it to the next kid. He just forgot to always stay in his area lol. Alan also did a good job batting but struggled with the concept of running from one base to the next lol. Kids… :) He still did a wonderful job trying though! Go Team Orange!!!! The Renaissance Faire Aunt April and I took the kids to the Renaissance Faire at Zoo Montana for the first time ever. Th...

Back in Action!

I don't have time to post much, but I just wanted to let everyone know that we are back from our lovely 2 month hiatus. :) I've missed you all! And I hope  that you guys have missed us too! Here is a short update on each family member! Jillian As for moi, I have been working hard at the YMCA. I now teach all of the gymnastics classes and also ran the gymnastics camp we held over the summer. I still also teach hip hop and work in the daycare.  I totally love my job! My most recent event that I volunteered for with my work was my second Relay for Life. I loved doing it last year and I loved it again this year. It is such a beautiful thing to do for those loved ones who are suffering from cancer, or for those who have cancer and do not have any support. I have never given so many hugs in my life! :D I have been spending my summer working and looking for another house. We found out this month that we need to build our credit before we can buy a house, so we are looking a...

Relay for Life 2013

Image
Friday was Relay for Life in Billings. I volunteered with the YMCA and helped work the inflatables. Alan was also able to come with me, I think he had a blast. :) He played on the inflatables with his school friends for two hours and then had dinner, got a balloon gun and some chocolate ice cream. He also got to sit and watch the parade of survivors, he loved cheering for them! I enjoyed volunteering as well, but I'm pretty sure he had a better time then even I did. :) But there's so much more to Relay than just fun. Relay for Life is literally what its name says, its about life. Its a celebration of life for some and a memorium of life for others. It is a walk against cancer and for the survivors. I was surrounded by so much love, beauty and happiness. I have never given out so many hugs to random strangers, but that's what this is about! There were so many tears, both happy and sad. I have never felt so alive and so grateful to be alive! Life truly is go...

Thriller and Swimming Lessons

Image
What a busy week we had! Alan had swimming lessons all week and today he graduated from his Goldfish class! My hip hop class had their Thriller choreography and performance class Wednesday night. And tonight I volunteered at Relay for Life! Yeah, I am a legit Dancer Against Cancer!! :) Lol, I have been seeing that all over my Instagram lately, I just couldn't resist! You know you loved it! Thriller went amazingly! I feel like I say this everytime but I am so proud of my students! They are truly phenomenal! They learned this dance in one class and performed it twice for an audience. They did so great! Good job girls, you put the "R" in Rocking it! Rock it, don't stop it! Get it girls! One of these times I will get around to ACTUALLY filming the performance so I can post it on here but for now, here are some photos for now though! I need to have a friend (or sister, April) come take some class photos for me! That would be the best! I also would like t...
