Saint Patrick's Day 2014

Image
We have had such a slow few weeks. Haven't really been able to do anything. Its so terribly mundane, it feels like we are walking through a bog. Everything goes so slowly and there's so much to do but it never all gets done. Blah, I have been trying my best to keep posting on here, but I will miss a whole week sometimes! I'm sorry. :) Its finally starting to seem like spring out though, which is nice! And last week I was awarded the Tumble 1 and 2 gymnastics teacher position. I am quite excited to be in charge of this program now, and have some BIG plans for the program. How was your Saint Patty's Day? I know its a little late lol, but I am just getting around to posting this! :P Ours wasn't the most exciting but it was still a great day! We didn't really differ too much from our usual Monday schedule but the kids picked out their green in their outfits, we made shamrocks in daycare and then we celebrated with green cookies for dessert from the Leprechan! It w...

Andersen Happenings

Image
We have been somewhat busy this past week. Monday, I renewed my car's registration and changed the oil in the car. Tuesday, we took Alan into the doctor to get the skin on his right wrist checked out. Wednesday, I had all day training for the rockwall at the YMCA with Cliff Tobin. And our car started breaking down again. It started making a rattling noise in the engine area a few days after we had changed the oil. Not sure yet if that has anything to do with it, but we are stranded until the car is fixed. Busy, busy, busy! I finally got the car reregistered, so that hopefully when I go to court, the citation will be dropped. We can't afford to pay a ticket right now, so hopefully the judge will be as understanding as the police officer was! :) Now about Alan's arm: Alan had a few bumps on his wrist the other day, we thought they were bug bites but its not that time of year. We weren't exactly sure what it was but we started covering it with a bandage. This weekend, the...

A Weekend Birthday Party and Other Thoughts

Image
It snowed today! Well technically it started last night but it has yet to stop today. We are supposed to get another 2 or 3 inches before it gets dark out, and even possibly another 1-2 inches later tonight. For a total of seven possible inches of snow, we will probably have a WHITE Halloween lol! Oh well, I like the snow. I know we have a lot of people in town who hate it, but I am true Montanan. Snow means snow activities! My family sure loves our snow activities too! Plus it is just so gorgeous out! I love how just a little snow can suddenly make everything look so cozy and quaint. Love it! :D However with that being said, I do usually try to stay off the roads during the snowstorms and the first day it snows if I can. Its also nice to enjoy it from inside at home, or out in your backyard too. ;) Please be warned, it is a little crazy to drive in (if you don't know how to) so I want everyone to be careful out there! Even the BPD is asking everyone to drive safely. They h...

Soooooooo Much for Earth Day Celebrations...

Image
We woke up this morning to find a nice blanket of snow covering everything, for like the third time this month lol! So much for my holiday plans, darn! We were going to go to Norm's Island today and go on a nature hike. I also had plans to finish the yardwork and plant the last of our flowers. This will probably not happen in the snow with a potty training preschooler and a babe. We are watching Disney movies all day to make up for it. Le sigh... whatevs Mother Nature, if you want to be a drama queen today, then that's fine! You had just better behave on Arbor Day, I won't take no gruff from you then! :) This weekend wasn't too crazy. My family was out of state for Aunt April's dance competition and workshop, but I did have my bosses' baby shower I helped decorate for. She is having twins, a boy and a girl, around the same time Aunt Natalie is. The party was rubber ducky themed, which I thought was adorable! I loved the color palette: blue, pink, purple an...

Happy Birthday Hollie and Other Topics

Image
I want to give a big "Happy Birthday" to fellow blogging mama Hollie. She is the amazing author of Mordern Colors Blog. This mama of one is celebrating her 28th birthday today. Stop by her page and wish her a happy birthday! Happy birthday Hollie! Stay amazing and we love you! <3 I love my hubby so so so much! A fun fact about me: I use Nat Geo magazines occasionally for inspiration while I am painting. Most of my magazines were stolen out of my art room in high school lol and needless to say, are falling apart. Lon knows this and bought me a new magazine the other night on the way home from work. Ooooooh its so pretty! I love the quality of National Geographic's photos and pages! *Gush* Thanks again baby! I wanted to take a quick moment to wish safe travels to my mother, my sister and her dance studio while they are on their way to Ogden, Utah for a competition and workshop. Love you girls, rock the competition and take lots of pictures! I know you girls can do ...

I am Terrible with Titles Lately...

Image
I cannot seem to think of one for the life of me lol!  Oh well, lots of things have been going on at the Andersen household, some great so-called "life upgrades" and other cool stuff lol. Alan is still sick, he is getting over a bad cold and a double ear infection, but he is starting to eat again and beginning to act more like his old wild self. This makes me very happy! Earlier this week, Uncle Chase was over to hang out with the kids and it started to hail really hard outside. There was thunder and lightning too, and the hail eventually turned into snow. It was so crazy! It was sunny and nice outside one moment, and a snowy whiteout the next! You could not even see more than twenty feet in front of you at a certain point! Here is crazy Uncle Chase out in it lol! He and Lon insisted on going outside to collect snow for snowcones, but they were not very successful! It was too wild out there lol! You cannot see, but I am taking this picture with one hand. The other one i...

Five Question Friday!! August 10, 2012

Image
Happy Friday everyone! As far as I know, we don't have anything planned for this weekend except for visiting the grandparents. My family is going out of town again I believe, so we will just be making a visit to the in-laws. Yay! Lucky I like my in-laws because it seems like my family is always out of town lol! :) Alan and I had a lot of fun today with Legos. Lon has a few of the new Lego games they have out and he let us play with them this morning while he went to work. Alan and I played the Minotaurus game and the Sheep Shearing game lol. Well I mostly played while he jabbered at me. :P Anna hung out next to us, doing some tummy time. She loves to hang out and watch her brother move around. I think she is trying to figure out how he does it lol. :) So cute! I took a few pictures of Alan playing and here they are: Here is this week's Five Question Friday! I missed last weeks so lets make this one awesome to make up for it lol! Enjoy! Thunder storms- love the...

Toddler Talk Thursday! March 8, 2012

Image
Happy Thursday! The weather is just gorgeous again lol. Mother Nature can't make up her mind anymore lol! If I have the extra time today, I might take Alan to another park. Its so sunny out! We are just so excited for the Disney on Ice show tonight! Since Alan woke up this morning, all he can talk about is Mickey and Minnie lol. He even wanted a Mickey shirt to wear and when we were unsuccessful in finding him one, he threw a little fit. Ugh lol. :P Boy is my little guy all about Disney today! Be sure to check out my post from earlier today, where I reveal my daughter's name choice! :) We are so excited and can't wait to meet her! Only nineteen more weeks! Mother Nature may have lost it...

Image
And I am saying this with the upmost respect and love lol. But... Has anyone noticed the crazy weather lately? It started with the snowless December (we had a Brown Christmas, very disappointed), continued with the bipolar snowy and nice weather throughout January and went straight through with the 60 degree February. Well now that its March, the weather is supposed to start getting nice right lol? Maybe. Yesterday was a beautiful 60 degree day. Today however, looks like this: Today Yesterday I took Alan to the park, we played on the playground. Yesterday Today Yesterday Alan slid down slide after slide, squealing with joy in the beautiful sunny weather. Yesterday Today Yesterday we explored what Alan called the "big scary bridges" while the breeze kept us nice and cool. I was so proud he was doing them! Yesterday Today It hasn't stopped snowing since I took this picture of my front yard either. *Sigh* Guess it was a good thing we went to the park yes...

Holy crow, its already been two months!!

Image
I can't believe that I forgot to mention this morning that today is also our two month anniversary. But it is! The only reason I mention this even is because my wonderful husband surprised me with a homemade steak and potato dinner for us, for our two month anniversary. I knew there was a reason I married that guy lol! :P Just joking! Wow these first two months really flew by for us, but we have been through so much in that short time. It has only made us stronger though. I feel like we are still so much in love too! Lon is always doing little sweet things for me like saving the last pop in the 12 pack, or waking up late when Alan fusses. He is such a sweet guy. I love him. :) He is a wonderful father to Alan as well! Oh I love how much they love each other. You can just tell! I got really lucky when it came to picking the perfect dad for Alan, because no one else could ever replace Lon! They are perfect for each other! Happy 2 month anniversary Lon! I love you so mu...

Stress comes in full

I haven't been posting like I should normally. I feel like I'm not posting enough. Even though I've only been missing around one post a week, I still feel like I am not adequately covering Alan's life. Lol, this is what happens when you're stressed and over thinking things. I'm worrying about a BLOG??? Really? I still apologize for not posting at all yesterday. Monday night and all of Tuesday were very hectic and stressful for me, in more ways than one. Monday night was really scary for us, Billings and Yellowstone County in general. There was a tornado, severe thunderstorm and flash flood warning placed on Yellowstone County. I got home from work and we had dinner. After dinner we were putting Alan in the tub, when I got a message from an old co-worker that in FIFTEEN MINUTES there would be a tornado on the rims. We live in a second-story apartment of an old building, where the basement is its own apartment. Thus, it was locked and we could not use it as sh...

Back to Square, er Step One...

Alan threw up three times today. Once around 9 after breakfast of banana yogurt, again around noon after he had some chicken broth watered down (probably not my best idea), and the third time around 2 after my husband insisted on giving him a dosage of the probiotics (we think this time was only because he was force gagging himself on the grittiness). Surprisingly, he did keep the probiotics down. We were lucky there. :) Alan is currently (even though he's in bed now) on Step 3, and when he awakes he will be back on Step 4. Our biggest concern with this right now is dehydration. With the combination of explosive diarrhea (Sounds terrible, but that's the best description I have. He will fill a whole dry diaper in one sitting) and persistant vomit, a toddler can easily become hydrated and end up in the ER. Alan's doctor reminded us of this at our visit, and I would like to avoid this at all costs. We are following this diet to a "T" and even when he is allowed to ...
