Eleven Questions About Me

Image
How was everyone's Valentine's Day yesterday? Ours went great! Alan's little party had a very nice turnout, we all had a blast together! I will be sure to post about that sometime next week. I do not think that any of us took a single photo though lol, how silly are we! Lon surprised me with a dinner date to Applebee's KID FREE and then we went shopping for a movie (the new Judge Dredd, AWESOME), which was all awesome. I also got chocolates, yum! I am really picky about chocolates lol and he made a point to get me the PERFECT box of chocolates for me. Oh how I love him so much. He is just so perfect for me! Thanks baby! I am so very excited because Aunt Natalie and Uncle Jake are coming to town today! Yay! We have quite a bit we want to do with them here, I am just not sure what the exact plans are yet. But Alan has been asking for Aunt Natalie since he woke up lol. They are buds since he was born. :) We just cannot wait to see them! Have a safe trip here guys, ...

POV Posts: German Weddings

Hello, hello! Today I wanted to share some German wedding traditions with you all. Weddings are, well, a bit different here than in the USA. Here are some wacky traditions and noticiable differences in German vs. American weddings! "Polter Abend" This was by far the scariest suprise tradition ever! Polter Abend is ususally 2 nights or the night before the wedding. Friends, neighbors, and family all gather and smash anything porcelain in the groom's driveway! This is supposed to bring the newlywed couple luck (don't ask me how). After all of the smashing is done, the bride and groom get the honors of cleaning up the mess! Ours wasn't too bad, because only two of his aunts brought some old porcealain plates, etc. My parents-in-law however, had an entire parking lot full of smashed porcelain, and some of their friends went so far as to bringing old toilets to smash. "Krenzen" This is a tradition for weddings, silver anniversaries, and gold annive...

I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo endlessly grateful that its almost the weekend. I am so beat from this week, and we have quite the eventful weekend planned. Saturday is Alan's second cousin Sophie's first birthday party and my friend Chelsey's wedding, which Lon and I will be attending toddler-free!! Thanks to Grandma Melanie! Then Sunday is of course Father's Day. :) Alan and I will be treating Lon to a nice hike in Red Lodge. Alan also made Lon a wonderful card. I hope everyone else has a grand weekend as well! And now onto Five Question Friday! What is your favorite summer time activity? Swimming! Alan went swimming without me yesterday (Grandma Melanie and my siblings took him while I was at work) and I was sooo jealous! Lol my favorite thing to do during a hot summer day is just jump in the pool and float. Or logging is fun as well. This is a photo of my favorite place to swim and go logging! Canyon Ferry Lake! Our fourth of July d...

Good morning everyone! Today is Alan's LAST art class for the school year! :( He and his father get the summer break off from art class so that I can take Alan to swimming lessons and we can go camping several times in the summer, guilt-free. :) I'm still really said that its his last class with me for a while, he's only been going for 3 months now, but I'm already used to having him. Plus I love all the art work he makes each class. Our house walls have never been more decorated. :) Oh well, he will start up again in September. I just have to remember to grab my camera for pictures- today we have our family art show! The Undomestic Mama has not posted a Top Two Tuesday blog hop yet, so I will go ahead with Oh Amanda's Top Ten Tuesday! Enjoy! Top Ten Baby Names!! ***This baby names are copyrighted- In the sense that no one else in my family can steal these names for their own children!!!
