We played in their new backyard too, while Kelsie set up her new flower garden. It was so darn nice out and they have a HUGE backyard! Oh I cannot wait for homeownership! :D Anna chased the boys around some and did some exploring on her own. Her buddy, Karter, was napping for the day but she did get a chance to play with all of his toys lol! She loved playing in their watertable. I loved that it was nice enough out to let her!
Both of his teachers just loved the gifts! It was a total success! Thanks again Kels, for the gift idea and for having us over! Love you mama! :)
So if you didn't read through all of Anna's 22 month stat post, (and I can't blame ya, its long as crud) Anna is now potty training. We started four months later than we did with Alan, only because he regressed several times during his potty training journey. We wanted to set Anna up to suceed, not be nervous and unsure. And its been going pretty well, I think! She has only just started, so everything is new to her. But she still is excited to try everytime, this is important to me and my main fuel to continue training her right now.
WARNING: Mom and Dad potty training talk ahead. In detail... Don't say I didn't warn you!!!!

This weekend was also full of dance recitals and birthday parties lol. Its funny how the month of May is usually always like that. :P But this time around it was Aunt April's Diversity Dance Studio recital and Alan's school friend Dominic's third birthday party. It was a lot of work for this mama lol, but a good Saturday for us overall!
Dominic's party was actually at the YMCA. Dom's mom works with me there as well. I think I may be having Alan's party this year at the Y as well, but I haven't fully made up my mind yet. The party was a blast though! It was one of my tumble parties, the kids had a great time! Alan loved running all over with Dominic and his older brother. He always has so much energy lol. :) Anna tried to keep up with them, but after a bit she just started doing her own thing. Silly girl!
Alan and Anna went on the zipline maybe a billion times. Dang my monkey kids love that thing! Anna can almost go by herself now, hopefully sometime after her second birthday she will be strong enough. Alan is the zipline master now at 4 and a half lol. He was trying all sort of crazy things on the zipline! It was just AWESOME Towards the end, Anna became a wee bit grumpy. I don't know if maybe she just didn't sleep well last night or was teething or what. She just wasn't happy. She threw a fit while waiting to sing "Happy Birthday" and screamed through the whole song lol. I'm not too sure, maybe she doesn't like waiting to eat her cake? :P
After the party, we went home and took a nap before the recital. I wanted Miss Anna to be good and rested so she would behave her best. I had decided that of the two dance recitals April had this month, the Diversity one would be better to bring young children lol. Diversity has kids Alan's age already onstage and they have more "fun" pieces for kids. No offense, but the Ballet isn't too kid friendly. I think they would be bored out of their gourds lol. So I figured Diversity was the best option.
I was quite wrong though, maybe Anna didn't need to go at all lol? She must have been still wound up from the party or just really wanted to be onstage dancing with her Aunt, because that girl would not sit in a chair at all! We watched a few numbers off to the side really close to the actual stage, but then Anna started trying to climb onstage! So we had to go back out in the lobby for a bit. Then my mom and I tried corraling her between the four seats we had. She was good standing there and bouncing along for about... two dance numbers. Then she was trying to go farther then she was allowed and crawling under our legs and yelling. So back out we went. :) We tried having her color, it was too dark in there so back out we went. We tried a sucker but she kept doing daredevil stunts so we had to take that away. And back out we went. I spent the majority of the recital like this photo shows, with me sitting outside the door in the lobby listening to the music with Anna being wild next to me.
I was able to catch a few of Aunt April's dances though. I saw "Winter Song" and "Taking Care of Business." Both which I have seen before and both of which I do enjoy a lot! "Winter Song" is one of my favorites from this year! Unfortunately I didn't get to see Theo's piece, or Tessie's piece or even Kevin's piece. They are also in my Top 5 Favorites list and I really wanted to see them one last time! :/ I did get to see Brooke perform though, she did great! Brooke is my old dance teacher's daughter. I was pregnant with Alan when she was pregnant with Brooke, they were born a day apart lol. :) I was very happy I was able to see her perform for the first time ever! Makes me think about when Anna is old enough to do that. :)
Unfortunately, we left after the intermission. It was already 8 in the evening and Anna was about asleep. I had parked several blocks away too, so it totally sucked walking by myself with two kids on a Saturday night downtown. We walked past several creepy people and I had to remind myself to just breathe and keep going a few times. There are too many bars and casinos downtown, seriously! :/ It totally destroys the amazing historical look that we love so much! More theatres and historical buildings perserved please and less of these crappy casinos and "alcohol dispensaries." Yuck!
All in all, it was a great weekend. The party was a ton of fun and the recital was still very nice. I always enjoy what Diversity puts out at the end of every year. That's a group of hard working ladies! Good job Aunt April and good job girls! I really cannot wait until this fall, we will actually be able to put Anna in dance this year. And we decided to keep in the family and sign her up at Diversity! It will be a Mama Daughter Creative Movement class and I am so excited! Yay another dancer in the family!

Happy Mother's Day to all of my mama readers and bloggers! I love you all and am so thankful for all of you! Being a mother can be a blessing at times, but other times it is very hard... having other mothers there to support you and share with your struggles, is a blessing in disguise. <3 You are all such wonderful mothers too, you inspire me everyday to be a better mom for my own kids. Hope all of your days are amazing!
We are pretty broke trying to get this new place and living seperatley right now, so we didn't do anything special for Mother's Day. I only really needed to spend the day with my beautiful family and that's exactly what I got! I spent the whole day with my kids and most of the day with Lon, it was wonderful! :) I love you Alan, Anna and Lon!
Both kids made me gifts from their schools and daycare. It was so sweet! Especially to get something from the little miss! I expected Alan's preschool to make something (they always do holiday projects there), but Anna's two gifts from daycare were a pleasant surprise! Alan made me a basket of flowers that he painted himself and a handprint bouquet for Mother's Day. Miss Anna made me a Mother's Day card and a watercolored flower. Both of them were so sweet and posed for a picture with their gifts too. :) Thanks guys, I love you so much! You are the best children a mother could want!
I want to wish a very happy Mother's Day to my own mother. Mom, I love you very much. Thank you for always being there for my family and I. Thank you for teaching me to be a strong-willed person with hard working ethics, I will pass these on to my own children. Thank you for supporting me throughout my trials and tribulations in life, you held my head when I was sad and was my #1 cheerleader during the good times. This I now do with my own children too, another good characteristic of motherhood you taught me. Thank you for loving me unconditionally. I love my own family unconditionally because of you. This is my best and favorite characteristic of a mother. Thank you for showing me how to be a mother and to nuture my children. I love you most of all for this. Happy Mother's Day Mom, you're the best.
To my mother-in-law, happy Mother's Day! Thank you for all the help you have done for my family and I this past year, we would be no where without you and my family. Thank you for raising my husband and for showing him how to always be there for your family. This is very important to me, thank you for that. I know you are dealing with some rough stuff this Mother's Day but know that even though we are far away right now, we are still thinking of you and praying for you and yours. We hope your day is everything you want it to be. Happy Mother's Day Amber, we love you.
To my sister, Happy Mother's Day! This is your first Mother's Day that you get to spend with B, I hope it is amazing! You have been through so much these past 10 months of motherhood, you are such a strong woman and mom! I am so proud of you! I don't think Benton could ask for a better mother, you are awesome! As your photo in the Mother's Day collage shows, you truly are SuperMom! :D I know that you are moving this weekend, but try to have a relaxing day. You deserve it! Love you and cannot wait to see you three again. Happy Mother's Day Natalie!
To my amazing WTE mamas, Happy Mother's Day ladies! <3 <3 <3 I tried to post of the FB board earlier today, but my phone is whack. :/ So hopefully enough of you read my blog lol! :P Thanks for being there these past five years, can you believe it? We have been through so much together! All the pregnancy tests and GD blood draws, to the mucus plugs and meds for labor, to yellow poop and leaky nipples, to toddlers who won't eat... and more poo lol, to potty training successes and failures, to new siblings and preschool... We have been through so much together and honestly, I couldn't have done about half of it without you ladies. I love you so much. We are always saying that we are sisters, but I truly feel it in my heart. You ladies are the best! Here's to many more years together and MORE babies lol! :P Love you all so much, happy Mother's Day!
To all the mothers I missed, to anyone who is suffering this Mother's Day, to anyone who is trying so hard to be a mama, to anyone who misses their mom today, to all the woman: I love you all! No matter what your situation is right now, no matter how hurt you are feeling, you are all special and amazing. I hope your day is just as wonderful. You all deserve it!
Miss Anna is only two months away from being two now and this past month she has grown up so much! She is now potty training, is off the binky during the daytime and is trying new things everyday! I honestly can believe that she is the age she is now, she acts like a darn two year old already! Happy 22 months Anna Ariel! We love you so much sweet girl! I don't know where we would be without you! Life definitely wouldn't be comlete without you brightening up our lives everyday! :)
At 22 months, Anna Ariel:
*weighs approximitely 24 1/2 pounds and is roughly 35 inches tall. I will get more accurate measurements soon.
*is officially in 24M and 2T clothing. She is also now in size 4 diapers at NIGHT only and is in size 2T pullups for potty training during the day! :D She still wears size 6 for her shoes and I can't seem to get her to wear any other pairs of new shoes.
*has auburn colored hair that is almost to her lower back now. There are only a few red streaks left in her hair now. And its so darn curly, just like her father and her big brother!
*has hazel eyes with blue around the edges. They are some crazy beautiful combination of our eyes. I love them!
*has eleven or twelve teeth right now, I am not 100% at the moment. I tried to count them and she about bit my finger off lol! All I have to say is thank goodness for teething necklaces!
*still eats like a darn bird but I have finally figured out the right vitamins for her to take. Hopefully it would help her put a little more weight on, or at least maintain what she has.
Her favorite foods are strawberries, spaghetti, string cheese, bananas, chicken, rice, broccoli, oranges, carrots, lasanga and cheesecake. She will eat only small amounts of anything we give her though, whether or not its a favorite of hers.
*has had so many big milestones happen this month! She started potty training this past week, she still is figuring out the general concept of it but we are just in the beginning stages. The important thing is that she is excited everytime I ask her if she wants to go potty. She will progress and eventually be in undies like big brother! She will also have officially been in daycare for a year this upcoming month. Its crazy to think that she is getting so old now!
She is off the binky in the day time now and only takes it during nap time and bed time. She still asks for it and will get upset when I don't give it to her sometimes, but she is getting much better! I am so proud of her! Now that she is done with gymnastics for the year, I can start planning for next year. I think I will put her in a dance class at Diversity since she will be old enough. She loves watching Aunt April dance and always wants to be onstage with her and the other dancers!
*has a pretty normal sleep schedule now. She has been going to bed early lately, since she has been getting up around 7 or 8 every morning. She takes an hour nap in the afternoon and sometimes another nap in the evening, if she has had a big day.
*has an awesome vocabulary now! It develops more every day, she probably knows almost 100 words now! She is so stinking smart!
*is no longer afraid of doctors! Hallelujah! We have been to the doctor's office several times lately for various colds and viruses, she has done so well each time! She no longer fusses when the doctor checks her. I am so proud of her! The scar is just a pink triangle by her eye now, by the time she is a teenager it will be almost invisible!
*likes dancing, Princess Sofia, drawing and coloring, going to daycare, riding her tricycle, playing with her big brother, Peg + Cat, dresses and skirts, all the colors in the rainbow, gymnastics, her friends, Minnie Mouse and her family.
Happy 22 months Anna! We cannot wait until you are two years old, you are such a joy in our lives! We cannot wait to watch you grow into a beautiful, smart young lady. We love you so much!

Its a good thing that my siblings don't read our blog consistently, or base of relationship on what I post on here lol... because I am WAY behind on posting about their birthdays on here. I posted a photo on FB and IG for them on their actual birthdays. And Aunt Natalie we called. We took Uncle Kalvin out to Chuck E. Cheese for his birthday. We still owe him a trip to Bricks and Mini-Figs though, that's what he really wanted lol. :P Happy birthday guys!
My mom and sister were still in Seattle at Velocity, so just the kids and I took Uncle Kalvin to Chuck's. I took them after my dance showcase. We ordered pizza and a salad bar, the service was okay. Definitely no where near as good as what Natalie and I used to do, but okay for sure. :) The kids ate quickly so they could play. Uncle Kalvin and Alan played together a bit, and Anna played with Alan some too.
We didn't have cake this time, but each kid got a Chuck E Cheese lollipop! We wish that Aunt April, Aunt Natalie, Benton and Grandma Melanie were also there! Love you guys! Happy tenth birthday Uncle Kalvin!
Also, a special happy birthday to my amazing sister! Last year was a big year for her, with the birth of Benton and her engagement to Uncle Jake! I cannot to see what this year will bring for her! I know that her wedding will be just wonderful, I cannot wait to be a part of it! Happy 22nd birthday babe. We love you so much. You are an amazing mother, a hard worker, an awesome aunt, and the best sister. Hope your day gets better, hope Benton does well with his ear tube surgery. Keep us updated! :)

I had my spring showcase this past weekend. It was the YMCA's second annual showcase, this time the ballet classes joined up with us! We had 5 classes, 31 kids and eight dances total. It was quite the little recital! One of our dance teachers was retiring, so I had all of her students sign a card and we gave her flowers. I am very proud of all of my kids for doing their best and making this recital amazing! We had a weekend full of practice, team building and performances!
We started out the weekend with four hours of dress rehearsal. I helped for the whole rehearsal, but each class only came for 45 minutes. Each class rehearsed the finale with the other class for 15 minutes then worked on their own dances for the other half hour. I loved helping at the rehearsal, I know most of the girls in the dance program, through subbing and them being in other programs with me. I love them all so much! Its great to get to work with all the students, not just my own kids. Plus they were all so well behaved!
It was a new experience for my hip hop kids to be performing in the Flanagan Gym. Its a much larger gym and the audience is elevated above the performers. Makes for a different performing experience. I am very proud that they followed my corrections and critiques! Despite being very nervous, they did very well! Good job kids!
After the dress rehearsal, we had our traditional pizza party at the Village Inn. I had six of my eleven kids show up, plus Alan! It was a lot of fun! We ordered pizza together, played a few games together, and had brownies for dessert. I always do pizza parties for the team building aspect of it but I totally have to admit, its a lot of fun too! :D One of the many perks of being a dance teacher! Here are my pizza partiers, minus two who had to leave earlier.
The day of the showcase was so stressful! I showed up like ten minutes late, the dressing room coverings would not stay up no matter what we did, and I missed my dance colleage's retirement announcement. But my kids did wonderful and they made me cry. I am so proud of them and despite all the crazy things that happened, it was fabulous second showcase! I didn't get any photos of videos of the performances, but I did get the class and individual photos of my kids. They all looked so awesome, I am so very proud of them! Get ready for a photo dump, because. HERE. IT. COMES!!!
I feel like I looked crazy but I got a lot of compliments on my outfit. Which is good, I guess, but I still think I am getting rid of the dress now that I have "officially" worn it to an event of mine. Now I can justify donating it to Good Will, in hopes of karmatically finding another fancy dress. Lol wishful thinking! :P
I had a sweet student who got me a bouquet of flowers too! Thanks sweetheart! :D As a old-school performer stuck in my old ways, I just looooooove to receive flowers after a performance! And I got all roses! Lucky me! Thanks to everyone who made this showcase special, to my students and the other classmates, to their parents and family members, to Miss Alice and Miss Jenna, to our dance director Mistie and to all the other Y staff! This showcase wouldn't exist without all of you! You are all amazing! To my dance students, I hope to see you next session or in the fall!
I have been so behind on posts with the showcases and both of my siblings' birthdays. Sorry guys, I will catch up now that I have a month off from dance!
