The Sunshine Award

I feel like my blog has been more cloudy, stormy weather with occasional sunshine as of late lol, but I guess not! My good friend Darlene from Tales of a Young Mamma nominated me for the Sunshine Award recently! Its a long story lol, for another time I think... But thanks a bunch Darlene! I would have picked you myself for the Sunshine Award, but I guess you beat me to it. :P I am very honored to be mentioned by you though. Thanks again!

The Sunshine award rules are as follows:
1. Include the sunshine award icon in your post (above)
2. Link to the person who nominated you
3. Answer 10 questions about yourself
4. Nominate 10 bloggers to receive the award
5. Link your nominees and let them know they've been nominated

Here are Darlene's questions!

What is your favorite thing about your significant other? I have so many favorite things about Lon, I don't know if I could even possibly pick just one! I love how amazing of a father he is, how willing he is to play with our children and be silly, how he is truly still a child at heart himself, how hard he works for our family and how he is our main protector. Lon, you are just all around amazing babe! You deserve an award, not me! I love you so much!

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up? When I was little, I totally wanted to be a teacher and a mom. I did a pretty good job of accomplishing that huh lol? The little me would be very proud!

It's 5 o'clock somewhere. What's your cocktail of choice? I don't like to drink too much usually but I when I do, I usually get something simple like Coconut Malibu Rum with Pepsi. Yeah, I am a pop gal and plain rum is for the youngens lol. I used to be able to handle straight liquor but not anymore. Yuck!

What is your proudest moment in life? Everyday that my kids show me something new that they have learned or accomplish a milestone is the proudest moment in my life. I love my kids so much and they are growing up so fast! Recently, Alan has been saying "cannot" or "do not" on his own merit, completely taking our the contractions! I am so proud of him for doing this on his own! As for Miss Anna, she now will respond to everything you ask her with "yes" or "no!" Such a couple of little smarties!

Have you had your first "I am my mother" moment? If so, what was it? So many times, I cannot even count anymore! I always feel like I am my mother, its so embarrassing to me sometimes. But then I remember, that it only means that she raised me right. If I am saying things like she did, then she must've done some things the right way, at least in my eyes. So I am very proud that I sound like my mom, she is a great mother and a wonderful woman!

Where is your favorite place to shop? There isn't even one of these in our state, but I just love Forever 21! They are a vintage and unique clothing store that fits my style so well! I found the store when I was still dancing in high school in Denver, San Diego and Orlando. I almost went bankrupt on all the items I bought there! But I am glad about it now lol because five years down the road, all of my Forever 21 clothes are still in great shape, while some of my others (even my Express clothes, gasp) have started to fall apart. So there you go, Forever 21 is stylish and durable, even with children! Gosh, I wish they would move a F21 store here! Actually I don't lol, I would never have any money!

If you won $100,000,000 what is the first thing you would you do with it? At this moment? That's easy peasy... buy a house for my family, without hesitation. A nice 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house with an attached garage and a huge yard! Then I would buy us durable vehicles and put the rest in the kids' college funds. All I need is a house and some cars to make my family happy! :)

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? For a long time, I've dreamt about moving to some dislocated place in the mountains, where no one could find us or contact us. I would love to start my own family all-natural commune with animals and a huge garden. I would just love to live off of the land only, it sounds so much easier and less stressful then trying to live off the land of the concrete jungle. People complicate things and society makes life so hard. I truly believe that money and power are the roots of all evil, people would not do half of the evil things in this world if not for those two things. Animals may fight over territory or mates, but only humans fight over something imaginary like power or a piece of paper.

Maybe I am just a Montanan or a hippie, but that's really what I think.

What is the best and worst gift you have ever gotten? The best gift I have ever received is simple. I believe that Motherhood is the greatest gift my children have ever given to me. I have never been so happy then the moment that they were both placed into my arms. I love you so much Alan and Anna! As for the worst gift, I usually like all of my gifts I have ever received. I do like homemade gifts more then store bought ones though!

What is your favorite current fashion trend? I am so not fashionable lol, I barely even understand what the word means! My teenage sister is always telling me how I don't match and look like some crazy gypsy lol, is that a trend? :P She is the fashionable one! She should answer this question for me lol! Nah, but I do know that she has started telling me to wear more scarves without the coat now that it is fall outside. Something about how scarves have come back and they are so "cozy" with sweaters? Which I understand, because sweaters are WARM and scarves keep your neck WARM lol. But I don't even own a scarf, let alone remember to wear one with my long-sleeved shirts lol! Scarves are for winter, yo!

So my nominees for the Sunshine Award are as follows:

Melody Joy @ Dance Parties in the Rain
Kirsten @ Team Ewan
Mama M @ My Little Life
How to Escape
Jill @ The Real Life of a Red Head
Allie @ Table for MORE
Sarah @ What Good are the Words
Neysa @ Mason's Journey

And my questions for these lovely mommies are:

What does your average day look like, from start to finish?
Who did you name your children after?
What is your dream job (if money, location and schooling were not an issue)?
If you could give one piece of advice to pregnant mamas about being a mother, what would you say?
How do you like to relax?
What is the most important thing to you?
Name three items you cannot live without as a parent.
What are your favorite baby names (even those who are done having kids, we're women, we always have baby names picked out lol) for both a boy and a girl?
Where is your family originally from?
What does your work out program usually look like (in the gym, at home)?
