Love this summer weather!

It was a beautiful, partially sunny partially rainy, 87 degree Sunday! We had a great day together, the three of us. We woke up nice and early, then snuggled and watched Seasame Street before getting dressed for the day. Then we played cars and watched Cars twice while Lon made breakfast for us.

After breakfast, we went for a walk around the neighborhood. Alan ran almost the whole way, laughing and yelling and chasing anything moving lol. We had a great time. :) We even walked through the Moss Mansion gardens on the way home.

Later we picked up Aunt April and Uncle Kalvin to go have a picnic and hiking and climbing on the Rims. It was raining lightly when we got up to Swords Park but most of that went away by the time we found our picnic spot. We sat down close to the edge (but not too close) and had PB and J sandwiches with carrots and apple slices. Alan chowed down on his sandwich and some apples but wouldn't eat any carrots. Hmmm, I can only ever seem to get him to eat carrots when they're hidden in other food... Not sure what that's about.

Billings has their airport right off the rims, and so one of Lon and I's favorite things to do in the summer is go to the rims and have airplanes fly over your head as they land at the airport. This is the coolest and most exilerating thing ever, we love to do it! A few planes flew over us while we picnicked and each time one did, Alan would stop eating and point at the plane, saying "Wooooooooooooooooow!" the whole time.

After our picnic, Lon and the kids went cliff climbing while Alan and I watched. Then we went on a few trails on the rims. I convinced the kids to do a scavenger hunt with me and we found everything from a cactus to a beetle to a bird's feather. Kalvin was very proud of himself when he found the cactus for us. :) We did some more cliff climbing and then we started heading back to the car.

We dropped of Aunt April and Uncle Kalvin, and went home to take a nap. The three of us passed out in our bed, watching Finding Nemo. It was a nice afternoon nap. :)

Grandma and Grandpa were having a barbeque again and once we woke up, we went over there. Lon had to do some work on his folf baskets, so he went to his parent's to work on them. Aunt April, Alan and I played outside while we waited for the burgers and hot dogs to cook. Alan swang on the swing, slid down the slide over and over again lol, rode on his tractor scooter, played ball, ran up and down the block, and drove his toy dirt bike in the mud. I had a great time playing with him and April, and just watching him play and be a kid. He got horribley muddy but I didn't care. He had a blast.

For dinner we had burgers, bratwurst or hot dogs with noodle salad, chips, pickles, and fruit. Alan went up in his highchair three times for dinner lol, and he chowed all three times! Boy did he work up an appetite today! In between each dinner meal, he played outside with me, Aunt April, Uncle Kalvin, Aunt Natalie and their neighbor Seth. Then it started to get cool outside so we went home.

Before bed, Alan and I made Lon his Father's Day card while Lon was showering. It is the coolest! Its orange and red with marker all over it (Alan's amazing drawing skills) and puff  balls and confetti glued all over it too! We hope Lon will like it! :)
